Jo-ann and Frank moved to Vancouver from Durban South Africa in 1997, leaving behind family, friends and careers to raise their two daughters in a safe and natural environment.

Jo-ann was a well known musical celebrity in South Africa- a widely celebrated singer, dancer and musical theatre artist. Vancouver residents have now discovered that Jo-ann has many talents including her culinary skills.

Frank moved to South Africa from Germany as a young man. In Durban he had a successful career in the financial service industry. However, Franks interest in import/export and his appreciation for fine foods makes him the perfect partner for this family Deli.

Their daughter Gabrielle is a trained culinary chef; after an extensive four year apprenticeship leading her through many fine restaurants in the city including The Beach House, Cin Cin, Bacchus, and The Heart House, she received her Red Seal. Gabrielle then made her way to Tuscany Italy, where she lived and worked for 6 months. When she returned she took the position of restaurant chef at Hollyburn country club. Gabrielle’s fine dinning training makes her the final piece of this dynamic trio.
